Regional Operational Programmes - Major Sports Facility Projects

The sports and recreational facilities sub-measure of the two Regional Operational Programmes, the Border Midlands and Western (BMW) and South and East Regions (S&E), of the National Development Plan (2000 - 2006), is a grants initiative which aims to develop a programme of major sports facility projects targeted in accordance with the prioritising of areas identified under the National Spatial Strategy.

There will be no invitation to make applications under the sports and recreational facilities sub-measure in 2007. The matter will be evaluated in the context of the Department's development of a strategic plan for sports facilities.
