Changes in the 2008 Finance Act come into effect
The enhancements to the section 481 scheme provided for in the two 2008 Finance Acts have now received the assent of the European Commission, and the Minister for Finance has signed the Commencement Orders needed to bring the changes into effect.
New Changes-
- the maximum amount that can be raised under the scheme has increased to €50m from €35M;
- the individual investor cap for those wishing to invest in film in Ireland has increased to €50,000 per annum from the current limit of €31,750;
- the tax relief on that investment has increased to 100% from 80%.
